Medium Schemes

Construction 2025 is a partnership between industry and government to transform the construction industry. This joint strategy has set our sector stretching ambitions between now and 2025, to achieve 33% lower costs and 50% lower emissions.

At their meeting in September 2016, the framework community board received an update from colleagues at AECOM on the recent release of PAS 2080, you can view the presentation here. The MHA has commissioned a project to develop a Highways Carbon Management Framework. Member authorities and framework contractors have been invited to attended a workshop (date to be confirmed) with the aim of developing a common method of carbon measurement

If our medium schemes framework is to be successful in moving towards these targets we will need to work closely with our supply chain and their representatives. The framework community board will encourage the involvement and participation of the supply chain in all our activities in order to achieve the aims and objectives which we have set for this framework.

key guidance:

HM Government  The Construction Playbook , published 09/22, captures commercial best practices and specific sector reforms outlining the government’s expectations of how contracting authorities and suppliers, including the supply chain, should engage with each other.

These are set out in 14 key policies for how the government should assess, procure and deliver public works projects and programmes which all central government departments and their arms length bodies are expected to follow on a ‘comply or explain’ basis.
