MHA+ Members Celebrate Success at ICE East Midlands Merit Awards 2026

MHA+ is delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its framework suppliers and members at this year’s ICE East Midlands Merit Awards (EMMAs), with Galliford Try and Waterman Aspen’s Teresa Hylton among the evening’s standout winners.

Galliford Try: A Remarkable Clean Sweep

Galliford Try had an exceptional night at the EMMAs, taking home multiple Merit awards and Highly Commended recognitions.

The team received the Large Project Merit Award for the Melton Mowbray Distributor Road, now known locally as Pork Pie Way, delivered in partnership with Leicestershire County Council, AECOM, Waterman Aspen and others. The 3.5 mile bypass has delivered real change for local communities, reducing congestion in the town centre and improving connectivity for residents and businesses. The scheme also demonstrated impressive innovation in sustainable construction, with cold-mix asphalt containing 92% recycled materials produced on site, significantly reducing transport emissions and improving construction efficiency.

Galliford Try also took home the Social Value Merit Award for Pork Pie Way, recognising their meaningful and sustained commitment to the communities in which they work. Read more on Pork Pie Way in our story on its opening.

The team received two further Highly Commended recognitions, for the Climate Mitigation and Adaptation Award for Pork Pie Way, and for their entry into the Ashbourne Reborn: Town Centre Transformation category.

Completing a truly remarkable evening, the judges exercised their discretion to award Galliford Try Organisation of the Year, in recognition of their exemplary collaboration and stakeholder management across multiple schemes.

Teresa Hylton: Individual of the Year

A very special congratulations goes to Teresa Hylton of Waterman Aspen, named Individual of the Year 2026. A leader with empathy and vision, Teresa is responsible for 67 colleagues and has been instrumental in establishing the Women in Transport Hub in the East Midlands, making a significant contribution to inclusion and diversity across the sector. Her dedication and hard work within MHA+ have been an inspiration to all.

Congratulations to every nominee and winner at this year’s EMMAs. Achievements like these with our members and framework suppliers are what make MHA+ such a strong, values-driven partnership. We could not be prouder.
