This is a (free to MHA+ members) face-face one day workshop covering the practicalities of applying some of the collaborative management processes that are an essential part of the NEC4 Option C contract used by Midlands Highway Alliance Plus Medium Schemes Framework 4 (MSF 4)
It is commissioned from Thomas Telford – the knowledge business of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), providers of technical training for ICE members and those in the wider construction sector.
It is designed to help delegates develop a clear understanding of when and how to use the NEC4 ECC, how to apply the contract in real-world scenarios, with a particular focus on main Option C contracts and Early Contractor Involvement (X22). The training also explores key processes such as payment and compensation events, covers MHA+-specific additional conditions of contract, and highlights procedural differences between the ECC and its short form, the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Short Contract (ECSC).
While the MHA+ framework and ECSC are referenced, the course delivery focuses on the main ECC contract and its operational nuances under the MHA+ Medium Schemes Framework 4.
PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO BRING THEIR OWN COPIES OF THE NEC 4 ECC CONTRACT AND GUIDANCE NOTES, THESE ARE ESSENTIAL FOR THE COURSE BUT WILL NOT BE PROVIDED
